The delicate tie-dye pattern created through the unique technique of "wrap-shibori" on ultra-thin washi reminds one of the ephemeral yet beautiful haze of the sky, making it a one-of-a-kind piece. The beautiful Japan Blue expresses itself in a new way.
By applying the ancient dyeing technique of "indigo dyeing" from Japan to Tosa washi, we challenged ourselves to express new patterns while ensuring the light transmission necessary for Eco-Drive. The indigo-dyed washi dial created in collaboration with Watanabe’s indigo dyeing workshop in Tokushima Prefecture changes its expressions from chic to glamorous depending on the angle of light.
Moreover, based on the technique of "wrap-shibori", each piece is hand-dyed by artisans, resulting in unique patterns and color tones—no two pieces are the same.
